Created in 2017, Chid Lake House was built with a clear vision: to offer peaceful lakeside accommodation with stunning views in Chidenguele, a beautiful and remote village in Mozambique. Set on a hillside overlooking Lake Nhambavale, the villa offers approximately 3,000 m² of living space plus an equal area of protected natural surroundings.

This eco-friendly villa operates mainly on solar energy, covering around 90% of total energy consumption. Nestled in a rural African setting surrounded by trees, gardens and a small organic vegetable garden, every room enjoys beautiful views over the lake. Magnificent sunsets make every evening truly special.

The villa is fully equipped for total autonomy in a self-catering environment. In keeping with its peaceful natural setting, the house does not have a TV — just the sound of the lake, birdsong, and the glow of the fire pit at night.

Above Lake Nhambavale, Chidenguele

Self-drive from Maputo: Chidenguele is approximately 260 km north of Maputo and 60 km from Xai-Xai. The drive takes 3–4 hours depending on traffic. The EN1 national road has been significantly improved, making the journey smooth and comfortable.

Final stretch (15–20 km): A 4×4 vehicle is recommended from Chidenguele village to the house. Guests can contact the host if assistance is needed.
